The Roaring 20’s Then to Now
As different styles come back into today’s fashion choices, when’s a better time to take fashion inspiration from the 1920’s?
- The low rise heel should definitely come back into today’s style because it gives already tall people the capability to have the look of high heels while not making them any more taller. The low rise heel can be worn with a simple outfit consisting of a pair of jeans and a cute top.
- The flapper dresses should come back, but in a way where the style has changed to fit modern times. Maybe instead of having long black flapper dresses there could be a black sheer dress that goes above your knees where you wear a cute top and a pair of shorts underneath it. By bringing back this idea back while changing it at the same time you can feel a sense of edginess.
- The use of animal fur was big back in the 1920’s, but instead of wearing real animal skin we should wear fake animal print. For example, the fake snake skin tops are very cute and you can look very stylish without harming any animals. By bringing back the use of animal fur back people have a fierce look about them.
- Back in the 1920’s people would wear very elegant long pearled earrings, but instead of bringing back the elegant part of the earring, we should bring back the long portion of the earring.Like having long earrings but instead of having pearls have multiple hoops or maybe different objects on the end of the earring. When wearing long dangling earrings, your outfit gets a little something extra and it draws more attention to your face rather than your outfit. Long dangling earrings can go with many different outfits from a cute jumpsuit to a nice dress with a low heel.
- Small purses were mainly used in the 1920’s to allow many women to carry around small objects at a time. While in modern times it wouldn’t be very efficient to carry a small purse,it can be used as a fashion statement, and not to mention that a small purse can add a little flare to an outfit. A small purse can go great with any dressed up outfits, whether it’s a dress and heels or a pair of nice jeans and a cute top.
