Spotlight Players present this year’s plans

Kids say there is too much drama in the theatre department. Many secrets were being withheld from the kids of the theatre department. Mrs. Shannon Latzke, the newest director of the theatre department, has been essentially keeping many of the kids in the dark about what shows they were doing and how many shows they were doing, but at their last C&C (cast and crew) meeting, answers to many of the kids questions were revealed. Senior Chris Parker, President of the theatre department, says that the department is taking things day by day.

“[We] want to take things one step at a time,” said Parker.

But the real question on everyone’s mind is when can we expect a show from the theatre? Mrs. Latzke says they plan on putting on a main production around Nov. 12th, 13th and 14th. Mrs. Latzke recently announced that the theatre is putting on the annual Talentpalooza, Dinner Theatre, Elementary Theatre Workshop and One Acts. Mrs. Latzke also discussed what show they’ll be performing at their last meeting; they will be performing “12 Angry Jurors.”

“12 Angry Jurors” is a parody of the popular Henry Fonda movie “12 Angry Men.” All frustrations and worries can be put aside, the kids of theatre say that their department is alive and coming back with a punch that packs major power.

“I can’t say much about her directing skills because we haven’t started theatre yet, but I’m sure when we get the ball rolling, we’ll be back and better than ever because from what I’ve heard, Mrs. Latzke is a very strong leader,” said junior Patrick Hurley.
