Spartan Regiment to perform at Gator Bowl

The season is coming to an end, and the Spartan Regiment is preparing for its last performance of the year.

On Jan. 1, 2010, the band will be performing at the half time show of the Gator Bowl with other bands from across the Untied States. Students are saving up their money, making a list of things to bring and making plans.

“I’m saving up my money and going to buy different things to occupy my time on the bus. It’s going to be a very long trip,” said freshman Nathan Wilkerson, a member of the Spartan Regiment.

The band only practices once a week to refresh its memory on the show, but that does not stop students from bringing home their instruments and practicing at home. Everyone wants to preform his or her best. The band also has to preform at a parade, which means learning new music. The theme is “Sunshine,” in which one of many songs that will be played is “Walking On Sunshine.”
