Mrs. Williams
Mrs. Williams, as a freshman who was new to the intricacies of public school, I was heartbroken when you told me about your struggles. I still remember the day when it was incredibly apparent that I was one of the few students who did not have their eyes buried in their phone, and am still just as shocked to find out what a large problem it is. The days I spent after class were as much a help to me as they were to you, and I am truly glad you had someone to vent to without the worry of them not giving you their full attention. Moreover, I got to learn better organizational skills in rearranging the Chromebooks and calculators, so I guess when it comes to housekeeping and chores I’m set! It’s been such a joy to be in your Algebra 3 class, as you are definitely one of my favorite teachers both for your teaching style and the overall vibe you bring to the classroom. Learning new strategies of solving problems in just the first class I had with you made me feel like I already had a large advantage when it came to solving more advanced problems, which helped me use my love for Algebra as a somewhat effective coping mechanism. As a kid, I quickly became aware of how little control I had when it came to living life in general, and there were several moments where my life took a turn for the worse, but I’ve always been about helping people nonetheless, and you helped me strengthen this love. Despite all of my struggles, I always felt like solving math problems via Algebra in your class gave me a clear-cut answer to search for and focus on. There were no strings attached, the answer to the problem was the answer to the problem. Having even that small light that you helped me keep alive is more than I could ever ask for from a teacher. All of my thanks and credit goes to you as a teacher, and I am truly honored to have been one of your students not just once, but two times!
