It’s the beginning of the season, and already this week Coach Mark McAfee and the girls varsity volleyball team have had five wins. On Monday, Aug 29 they played Hazelwood West and beat them in three games.
Normally in a game, the average player has about ten assists a game. Senior Maggie Mueller achieved 35 (almost 12 per game) assists in these three games at Hazelwood West. Also on Monday night, senior Amanda Svoboda made 17 (almost six per game) points within the three games. Whereas, most players accomplish two or three a game on average.
On Tuesday night, they played Fort Zumwalt East and had a win for both games. Coach McAfee believes they have started off well.
“We’re a little rough around the edges, but we’re getting better and better,” Coach McAfee said.
