Emily Klobe becomes leader

Six girls. Nine holes. One coach. Mr. Bob Storts, the girls golf coach, has seen improvement in the amount of strokes the girls have been taking.

“The girls missed the first week of practice due to the heat advisory over the summer,” said Coach Storts. “Emily Klobe has really been doing well. I think she might get a medal at our tournament on Friday if she keeps improving.”

Senior Klobe has felt the pressure from her teammates and her coach to do the best she can. Senior Shelly Hassall is still out for the season, leaving Klobe in the first place spot for good.

“I’ve really been focused this year, and I care about my scores a lot more than I did last year,” said Klobe. “If I keep doing this well I hope to place at the tournament on Friday.”

The golf team’s record so far is 1-3. The team won against Fort Zumwalt South by 14 strokes, which was its best performance this season.
