Varsity volleyball anchors first loss

This week, the girls varsity volleyball lost one match to Kirkwood High School in the St. Charles West Invitational tournament on Saturday, Sep. 11. However, the team placed second in the tournament and this loss to Kirkwood has been the girls’ only loss all season.

On Monday, the girls defeated St. Dominic. Tuesday, they won their match against St. Charles. This places their overall record at 10-1. Next week, the girls have an away game against Troy Buchanan on Tuesday and a home game against Francis Howell on Wednesday.

Sophomore Mallory Dylan and senior Amanda Svoboda are ranked “top hitters” in the are, says Coach Mark McAfee. As well as Maggie Mueller, she is ranked as one of the top “metro setters” in the area.

“We are doing pretty excellent, and I can not wait for what this week has in store for us,” said Coach McAfee.
