Girls lead GAC South
Girls volleyball is riding smoothly through its season, leading the GAC South conference championship. This week’s successes have further progressed the team’s lead, according to Coach Mark McAfee.
On Tuesday, the girls played Troy and won 25-22 and 26-24. Then on Thursday, they played Howell and won 25-23 and 25-19. Their overall record is 12-1.
“Both were very, very good matches, but after our wins we are in the driver’s seat for the conference championship,” said Coach McAfee.
McAfee also says they were the GAC South champions last year, and now they are on a roll to repeat as champions this year. Senior Maggie Mueller is leading the conference with assists, and senior Mandi Svoboda and sophomore Mallory Dylan are first and second leading in points (kills).
Next week, the girls have two matches. First, a home game with Rockwood Summit, then later in the week an away game with Wentzville Holt.
