Cadets sack Spartans

After winning its first home game, the varsity football team suffered a defeat from the CBC Cadets bringing its record to 1-1. The team was unable to score a point throughout the entire game, and senior linebacker, Brett Davis, describes the game as a public embarrassment.

“We just came out flat, and against an extremely athletic team like CBC, you can’t afford to skip a beat for all 4 quarters, and we were missing beats right out of the gate,” Davis said. “We were publicly embarrassed and we are taking the steps to never let it happen again.”

Despite their loss, the boys are keeping their heads up for the upcoming game against Holt at the Edward Jones Dome.

“I’ve never been so excited for a football game in my life,” Davis said. “We are blessed to have this opportunity and we will take full advantage of the big stage.”

Davis is not only excited to play at the Edward Jones Dome, but he is also optimistic about playing the Holt Indians. Holt has lost both the games it has played thus far adding to Davis’ positive views.

“Holt has some solid linebackers but they’re no match for the running styles of Chris Thomas and Chip Miller,” Davis said.
