Despite the Spartans loss to CBC where they lost 0-64, the boys were able to overcome the humiliation and beat the Holt Indians 29-27 bringing their record to 2-2.
“Holt was our team to beat last year, but we were unable to do it,” senior linebacker Brett Davis said. “We surprised them. They were used to playing the Spartans that just rolled over, but we battled all four quarters, and we deserved that win.”
Instead of playing this game at Don Muench Stadium, the team got the opportunity to play at the Edward Jones Dome in the Great Football American Classic.
“It was incredible to just be in the presence of the [Rams players],” Davis said. “It was an honor to play there; we are a blessed team.”
The team’s next game will be on Friday Sept. 16 against Rockwood Submit who is currently 2-1.
