Going into the game optimistic and confident, the varsity football team thought it had the game against Rockwood Submit in the bag, according to senior linebacker Brett Davis.
“Last year when we played them, we lost because we made stupid errors,” Davis said. “They stole that win from us, and we felt like we were better this year.”
Despite the team’s optimism, it lost 31-13. Unlike the game against CBC where they lost 63-0, the boys felt they were prepared for the game, according to Davis.
“The scoreboard doesn’t reflect how close of a game it really was,” Davis said. “We had a few missed assignments that lost us the game.”
Regardless of their loss, the boys are preparing for their next game against Timberland, who is currently 1-3. The boys are building off the loss to Rockwood to make Timberland’s record 1-4.
“We can’t treat this loss like the CBC loss and forget it,” Davis said. “We have to remember this and come together as a team.”
