The boys varsity volleyball team lost against DeSmet Jesuit’s on April 8 in two sets. 25-16, 25-22.

In the first set, DeSmet had a 10-point lead on the Spartans. “when you start off cold in the first set it’s hard to get that momentum back, and volleyball’s all about momentum.” Daniel Tedder said.

The match consisted of thirteen attack errors, seven serving errors, eight blocking errors, eleven digging errors, and three serve receive errors. “when someone messes up during a play, then everyone else has to adjust to get that point.” Tedder said.

“Our ultimate goal is to win state, but in order to do that we have to take it one step at a time. Yes, it’s going to be difficult, but we know we have the capability if we put enough heart into it.”  Tedder said.

The varsity team holds a 9-4 record and has a home game on Tuesday, April 14th against Francis Howell North at 6 p.m.
