Bowling team ready for a strike

As the school year begins to pick up pace, several clubs and activities have started to make plans for the coming year, the bowling team being among them.

The bowling team will begin meeting in mid September. The team’s meetings occur once a week at Harvest Lanes or Cave Springs Lanes, where lanes will be set aside for the team to practice. In addition to practices, the bowling team will also compete once a week against teams from both FHC and other schools in the area. Teams who win at these competitions have the opportunity to go to state.

Last year, the bowling team placed fourth at state, a victory the team hopes to accomplish again this year.

But, most importantly, the bowling team wants people to know about them.

“We really want to get the word out,” junior Justin Thurman said.

The bowling team is somewhat unknown among students, and the team hopes to gain new members and get people talking.
