Volleyball Battles for State
As girls volleyball battles for state title, a variety of emotions fill the stadium, with the last game of the season quickly coming to an end. On Nov. 9, the Spartans went up against Liberty (KC) in the third place game. Although the girls lost the game, they ultimately placed fourth in the state, an advancement they’ve never accomplished before. Sophomore Kirstin Steinmeyer had a big impact on the girls’ season and at state, helping to keep the Spartans in the games.
“We could play fearlessly”, Steinmeyer says, “because we knew everyone on the team was there for each other”.
The girls volleyball team ends their season by earning fourth in the state, a memory that will last a lifetime and inspire future Spartans. The program will lose five cherished seniors, but they’re beyond excited to see what they can accomplish next year.
