Bouncing back from a 64-28 loss at home against Fort Zumwalt West, the Spartans went to Vianney and won a hard fought battle 38-35. So far this season, senior Garner Wilson has been the workhorse for the Spartans scoring four touchdowns thus far, and accounting for 11 receptions and 321 yards. Junior Kaleb Cooper has done his share of contributing as well, scoring three touchdowns and rushing for 126 yards on 29 attempts.
As the team builds on this win, there are still many things that need to be improved upon to keep the wins coming.
“Our defense is getting a lot better, but it still needs work if we want to make a statement in the playoffs,” said senior cornerback Zack Degrande.
The team’s next challenge will be Friday at home against the Troy Buchanon Trojan.
