Hazlewood West team wins in lopsided victory
Following a tough homecoming game loss against Wentzville Holt, the Spartans looked to rebound against an undefeated Hazlewood West team. This task proved to be too much for the Spartans, going on the road and losing a lopsided game by the score of 49-7.
The only touchdown for the Spartans in this game was scored by senior Garner Wilson. He leads the team with 28 catches and 649 yards. He is second on the team in touchdowns with six, following senior running back Micah Alsobrook who has seven.
The season is far from over, however. According to senior Zack Degrande, the team learns something about themselves in every game.
“Every game we find something that we need to improve on, and something that we need to continue doing well,” said Degrande. “That’s the only way we can get better.”
The Spartans next contest will be this Saturday at Fort Zumwalt South, where they will face the 1-5 Bulldogs.
