As the school year started settling into a routine, one class that always stuck out to me was biology. It wasn’t just because of the subject itself, but because of the person teaching it. Mr. Bitney created such a welcoming and comfortable environment from the very beginning. Being in class every day brought out questions and interests I didn’t have for any other class. Something else great about Bitney is his understanding and appreciation of his students. Although he manages to keep us up to date on our work and make sure we turn things in, he remains understanding of things outside of school. It’s such an uplifting thing to find that someone who only gets to know and see you for part of the day is trying to be considerate of the rest of the unknown things going on around you. You can just tell how much Bitney cares for each and every one of his students, and that really shows by the way he teaches and guides us through the class, all while creating a fun environment where students feel comfortable being themselves. Overall, I just want to thank Bitney for giving not just me, but so many other students a teacher they can feel comfortable talking to.

Many people have a special teacher that they feel close to for me that is Mr. Bitney. Since having him my sophomore year for Bio and now Taing for him this year it’s always a good time in there. Mr. Bitney is not only one of the most kind and understanding teachers but he is also a fun and a laid-back teacher. Whether you’re feeling down about a test score or overall not feeling good about something Mr.Bitney is always there to try and cheer you up or just try and help. His classroom is open to anyone, and is always filled with students, whether they’re asking for help on some work or just stopping by to say hi, it’s always a welcoming environment. Bitney puts in so much effort into everything he does for his students and you can tell. He cares for all of them in his own way. Not only for me but for others I want to say thank you for caring and thank you for pulling in the effort that it feels some teachers may have. Thank you for caring about your students in much a way that your classroom feels homey in a way.
