Footballers working for a better tomorrow

At its last away game, the Spartan varsity football team started off strong, with a 91-yard drive. The score was 6-0 when half time came around. Things took a turn for the worse with two interceptions, a kickoff return and a touchdown by the Holt Indians.

“We need to be a more physical football team and focus more on individual responsibilities if we want to be successful in our upcoming games,” said Head Coach Todd Berck.

Junior Jayden Lumpa is the leading receiver and scored a touchdown on Friday.

“I was excited when I scored, but we were still behind, so I knew we had a long way to go,” said Lumpa.

“We had many missed tackles and our special teams were off,” said Coach Berck

Their next game is against Rockwood Summit on Friday.
