Boys swimming dives in

Entering the Rec-Plex, team members old and new reunite to kick off the fall boys swimming season. Preparing for their first meet, on Aug. 30, all team members practice from 7-9 p.m. each day.

“This year, the team’s goals are to win GAC’s, beat Howell, Zumwalt West, and make the top ten at state,” senior Andrew Smith said.

In order to stay conditioned and in top shape for this new season, all team members were required to do some type of swimming over the summer.

“For core training and to keep up my technique on the 100-meter fly, I swam for Parkway everyday over the summer,” senior Ryan Macy said.

Excitement for the upcoming meet brings the team closer as it strives to set the season up for success.

“The entire team comes to practice everyday, to practice hard. The ultimate victory would be going into state undefeated,” Smith said.
