Despite how far away Spring seems, girls soccer has already started pre-season workouts. The informational meeting took place on Jan. 7 and the Tuesday/Thursday workouts started the day after.
“We have a lot of returning players, so in my opinion we can only do better [than last year],” said Karlee Schweigert, varsity wing defender, of the coming season.
With new assistant coach [Mr. Mulholland], high expectations, new perspective along with new players, the overall feeling about the season is positive. Not only does the season look promising, but so do future friendships.
“We’ll focus more on being a team as a whole,” said Tori Siebert, who plays midfield and forward. The general feeling is that the other coach focused more on individual skill instead of the entire team, and maybe with the new assistant coach on varsity, this year tactics will change.
Tryouts begin March 4, and varsity’s kickoff tournament is March 19-22.
