Still Going Strong

The girls tennis season kicks off with tryouts and practice as they prepare for their first match. Their game is a home game scheduled against Fort Zumwalt South on Aug. 29 at 3:30 p.m.

Sophomore Melissa Wyas is fired up and expects to attract lots of students to their intriguing first game.

“I’m expecting a good team win,” Wyas said. “There’s always action at the games and it’s always intense and exciting!”

This season, the team lost four vital seniors on varsity, but still expects to be a stronger team that has an indestructible bond with each other.

“We did lose four seniors from last year that were our top four,” said Coach Brian Kirk, “So there are some youth that are going to be on varsity, but I do think overall we are a stronger team and I expect us to be pretty competitive against most schools.”

Megan Kloepper, the only senior on the team, hopes the team will continue to strive throughout the season as they will give it their all.

“I hope that everyone tries their hardest and no one gives up,” said Kloepper.
