The team sprints a strider to raise their heart rates before their race.

The Varsity Girls XC team ran their decisive GAC’s on Oct. 14 at McNair Park. The team achieved their goal of second place for their GAC group, putting them in a good position going to the Districts race. Senior Faith Cordsiemon realized it would be her last time running at McNair, a course that has been a staple part of every XC season.

“Running McNair for the last time was both a little relieving and a major reality check of how fast my senior year is moving,” Cordsiemon said. “Cross country has been such a big part of my life and has made me so many close friends. It’s sad to know that it’s almost over.”

The team will finish their season at Districts on Oct. 30, unless they qualify to run at state on Nov. 5.
