The evening of Sept. 12, girls’ Varsity golf took on Fort Zumwalt East at the Links of Dardenne. With the sun shining and the entire course ahead of them, the girls started off strong and got their first win of the season. Captain Marissa Wortkoetter, has started her 7th year golfing and believes the time and effort the team has put in is well deserved and hopes the team continues to progress.
“We are finally getting recognized for the effort we put in, my freshman year we played golf in secret. You felt really embarrassed to be a part of it, we lost everything and it wasn’t fun”, Wortkoetter says “This year the team has felt more like a family, and I feel like we are more proud to carry our golf clubs around the school.”
The junior varsity and varsity team will take on St. Dominic and Troy for a Tri-Meet at Woods Fort Country Club, on Sept. 15.
