A slow starting game soon picked up pace as the junior varsity Spartans took hard hits from Fort Zumwalt South as they gained more opportunities to score from interceptions. The game ended 28 – 7 on Sep. 11, a sad loss for the Spartans. Sophomore Jason Campbell, the team’s quarterback, shares his experience as a leader to make sure each player was still working for success.
“I feel it’s just my job to help, if I see someone whose heads down then just pick them up,” Campbell said, “Make sure that everybody’s playing good but also having fun and being part of the team.”
After a difficult game the team is prepared for a kick back against new opponents and games. The Spartans are excited for another chance at the next upcoming home game on Sept. 23 against Washington High School.
