Swim team looks to improve

The girls swim team has much to improve on after finishing near the bottom in its first two meets of the season so far. The team finished 3rd in its meet against Eureka High School but finished near the bottom in a meet against Fort Zumwalt West.

“We have gotten out-worked in our meets so far this season,” said junior swimmer Leah Price.

Coaches Erin Thurston and Julie March realize what needs to be improved.

“[The coaches] want us to work on our technique and endurance,” said Price.

This will include the swimmers working on their foot turns, along with more sprints before practices every night. The team will also practice more on Saturday mornings in order to work on its problem areas.

The 28 swimmers and three divers will participate in their next meet Tuesday night against Fort Zumwalt South.
