The girls swim team just came off a loss against the Francis Howell Vikings in its last meet. According to senior Katie Carroll, it was a very close meet that could have gone either way, but in the end, the Spartans found themselves on the losing end of the match.

With the Spartans having a very young team, the underclassmen look to seniors to help better prepare them for their contests.

“I do my best in practice,” said Carroll. “I try to lead by example to help the younger members of the team get better.”

Although the team lost its last meet to Howell, the girls had recently placed third in their last invitational. As the girls progress through the season, they look ahead to their next meet against St. Dominic on Jan. 19, then to Fort Zumwalt North on Jan. 21.
