Bowlers win scholarship money in tournament

Last weekend in the Mid America High School Scholarship High School Bowling Tournament, Francis Howell Central had a very strong showing, taking the top two spots in the tournament. The first place team consisted of senior Matthew Hurtt and juniors Danny Landgraff, Mike Arnold, Sam Bocklage, Brad Wohlwend and Adam Wojciehowski. They were awarded a total of $1,500 in scholarship money.

The second place team was made up of seniors Justin Dody and Matthew Bebee and freshmen Tyler Everton and Jason Landgraff, who were awarded a total of $1,000 in scholarship money.

Both teams have now been granted entry into the North Point National Bowling Tournament being held in Indianapolis Indiana July 17-18. According to junior Daniel Landgraff, it is important not to forget how far away that is and to keep practicing and trying to get better for the tournament.

“When we practice, we have to keep our form and hit our marks every time,” said Landgraff. “Just because we won this tournament doesn’t mean we will win our next, so we have to continue to get better.”
