Soccer team remains consistent

The girls soccer team fell to a record of 5-3 after a 2-1 lost at home against the Pioneers of Duchesne High School Wednesday night. Senior forward Nicole Becker scored the lone goal for the Spartans in the loss.

Despite the loss, the Spartans have managed to remain at or above the .500 mark for the season and have succeeded in winning big games against Washington High School and St. Charles West High School. However, according to senior midfielder Darienne Korbai, coaches Derek Phillips and Chris Barth are upset with some parts of the team’s performance.

“[The coaches] want us to work harder on our communication and passing,” said Korbai.

The team will get two days of practice before traveling to Fort Zumwalt South High School to take on the Bulldogs on Saturday night at 6 p.m.
