During seminars at Francis Howell Central, the library holds activities called “Real World Wednesday,” where guest speakers come to teach students about different career opportunities and the workforce. On Feb. 18, students from FBLA presented their project, BASE, and various interviewing strategies for students. Senior Seada Yasin, one of the members of BASE, expressed the importance of being ready for interviews.
“Especially when you’re in high school… it’s important to build the necessary skills to prepare yourself for the real world,” said Yasin. “The most important part is trying to leave a positive impression with your interviewer and hoping for the best.”
The students in BASE are holding business clothing drives across the school for students who are unable to buy their own for job interviews. Their grey donation bins can be found in the lunch room and at any entrance to the school.
