The varsity boys tennis team is going into the GAC conference tournament with a record of 11-2 following a 4-3 victory at McCluer North High School Monday night to close the regular season.
The team is entering postseason competition having won eight of its past nine matches. The team has only lost one match, a 7-2 loss to Howell North last Tuesday, since April 6. Because of the team’s continued performance and successes, the coaches have not changed the practice routine heading into postseason competition.
“We are not working on anything new or specific,” said senior Derek Hoerman. “We are just working on playing consistently.”
GACs will start tomorrow morning at Troy-Buchanan High School and will last through Thursday. Players who perform well in GACs will advance to compete next week in the district stage of the state tournament.
