The losses continue to mount as the Spartans dealt with defeat for the eleventh time this season. The 58 to 50 loss to Mehlville brings the Spartans record to 4 -11, a record players were not expecting.
“We haven’t really found ourselves as a team,” junior, forward Jeff Desir said.
According to Desir, the lack of identity is hurting the on court performance, particularly in the defensive phase.
“Bad defense has killed us” Desir said. “To get better as a team, we have to get better with the defense.”
Desir says there is still time for improvement, and they hope it starts this Friday.
Friday is the rival game against Francis Howell High whose record is 3 and 13, and every player is determined to play tough in order to pull out the win.
“This game is very important. It’s a Rival game in their house. We hate these guys, so we want this one.” Desir said.
The game will be played at Howell this Friday at 7p.m..
