Tuesday brought another loss to the girls soccer team, dropping them to a 2-4 record for the season. The 1-0 loss to Fort Zumwalt East reflected a common theme for the team early on this season: the lack of offense.
Earlier this week, the team lost to Troy 1-0, keeping them scoreless in this week’s set of games. The team seems to believe that the lack of offense is what is keeping them from winning games.
“We need to start finishing. We’ve had 38 crosses without any goals and that’s bad,” said junior Lexie Hunk, a wing defender. “We have good effort, and we make a lot of plays, but we just cannot score,” she said.
Hunk believes the lack of scoring simply is a result of a lack of aggressiveness.
The team will have six days before the next game to fix the offensive problems. The game will be played at Warrenton on April 3.
