Countdown to tee off
For the past week the girls golf team has been preparing for its first match of the year and trying to fine tune each of their games. Sophomore Rachel Mossotti outlines some of the steps they’ve been taking to prepare.
“We’ve been mostly going to the driving range and chipping and putting, and also a couple games of nine holes,” Mossotti said.
After a week of practice, Mossotti feels confident in the veterans as well as the new players for this upcoming match.
“We have some very good freshman, I feel like they’re going to do well this season,” Mossotti said.
As well as perfecting their game, girls golf coach John Miller says they have also been reviewing rules and procedures. The team has also had to deal with the high temperatures that have begun to occur as September approaches.
“The first week of practice, the team was spoiled with beautiful weather and low temps. Now they are getting a taste of what August and early September temps usually feel like,” Coach Miller said.
