The varsity basketball team had its first match of the season as it took on the junior varsity team in a total of three eight-minute matches Monday night.
The team lost the first match, but finished strong, winning the last two. The team was looking forward to the game.
“[It’s] good practice for us because it’s an actual game,” said varsity center, junior Chris Guyot. “[The game] helps us get fan support as well by announcing it to the school.”
Although it was merely an exhibition, the team took it as more important than that.
“We were trying pretty hard, we took it like it was an actual game situation,” said Guyot.
The team’s first real test of the season comes on Dec. 4 as they travel to nearby Duchense High School to take on the Pioneers.
