Just Warming Up

An early morning on the course turned into an electrifying finish. The varsity and junior varsity cross country team traveled to Forest Park for the Fort Zumwalt Invitational on Sept. 9. The girls varsity placed third out of 15 teams. Junior Reese McDevitt,  senior Laney Parmeley, and freshman Noel Rice, all medaled for the girls varsity. Senior Ezra Bailey medaled on the boys side. Parmeley commented on how she was able to medal.

“I keep my eyes up on my teammates the whole time and try to reel in the next person,” Parmeley said. “It was a competitive race with a lot of teams.”

The team is ready for the next races to compete against tough competition and to prepare for the big stage at state. They will be competing at the Dale Shepherd Invitational on Sept. 30, looking for fast times and different competition. They are eager to compete together and finish with good results.
