One of the Spartans regiment’s favorite special guests is former band director, Richard Saucedo, who visited last week on Oct. 4. His critiques and encouragements help boost the regiment’s confidence for upcoming competitions and bi-weekly Friday night football performances. Throughout the entire night, the band went through drills, choreography, and sound for Mr. Saucedo. Senior drum major Sean Latta spoke on how Mr. Saucedo’s presence impacts the group.
“Every time he comes in, it’s nothing but high praise from him,” Latta said. “Which means a lot from someone that is as professional as him and when he helps us out and praises us, it really just boosts morale really high.”
Saucedo has a large influence on both the directors and the band as a whole and their overall performance for events to come. Including their upcoming competition this weekend on Oct. 14 at Francis Howell North.
