Rebounding from a loss to a rival school is never an easy feat; however, the varsity boys basketball team rebounded nicely in the opening round of the Fox Tournament with a decisive win against the host school.
The Spartans routed the Warriors with a 64-29 final score after falling to Howell North in their previous game in overtime, 47-44 last Friday night. Seniors Brian Midden and Shayne Heskin led the team to victory with 15 and 13 points, respectively.
The team sits with an 8-6 record entering the second round of the Fox Tournament, and they hope to continue building on the good and improving upon the bad. The boys look to advance in the tournament tomorrow against cross town school Fort Zumwalt West.
“We are trying to continue to do what we have found to work,” said senior guard Paul Haluszczak. “The things that are setting us back are what we want to fix and build upon.”
