The varsity basketball team lost a thriller at Howell Friday night, losing 67-65 in double overtime. Despite the loss, some players were proud of their work.
“[We] didn’t give up,” said senior forward Brian Midden. “[We] played hard and trusted in each other.”
Midden led the team in scoring with 32 points and added an assist in the loss.
“I wish myself and the team could have made more shots going down the stretch,” said Midden. “[We] could have won, but there wasn’t much that could have been done differently.”
The team has put the loss behind them and are focusing on the next eight games which will close out the season.
Players will honor teachers tonight as the Spartans take on Hazelwood West High School at 7 p.m.
