The Silver Shield is one of the more unique awards given to students because the criteria for earning the award is set by the teacher. There’s no GPA or attendance requirement or anything like that. Students simply must impress their staff members in some way that compels the teacher to select them for the most prestigious award the teachers award.
At the Feb. 29 ceremony in the auditorium, more than 70 students were honored by members of the faculty and staff.
