The Lady Spartans Swim Team is finishing up its season this week. The girls’ final day of GACs is tonight at the St. Peters Rec Plex. The girls had their diving preliminary Thursday night and their swimming preliminary Wednesday night. According to senior Katie Carroll, it might be the swim team’s last night swimming unless the 200 meter free relay team can make it to state.
Carroll thinks the season was a great success, and she’s very happy with everyone that has been a part of it.
“I’m really proud of everyone. It was nice that the underclass swimmers pushed the seniors to do better. That made the whole team better,” said Carroll.
The girls finished their regular season with a victory against Hazelwood Central last week, and if the 200 meter relay team makes the state tournament, they will be swimming next week, on either Feb. 19 or 20. The state meets will take place at the St. Peters Rec Plex.
