The varsity basketball team lost to McCluer High School on Senior Night Friday 63-47 and was defeated by Parkway North Tuesday night 53-49, bringing the team’s losing streak to nine games. The team hopes to finish the season on a higher note in the final game of the season before hosting districts next week.
The team remained competitive against Parkway North, but were not capable of pulling out with a victory.
“The team did not play as well as they could have played,” said assistant coach Brian Cissell on the loss against Parkway North.
Brian Midden led the team in scoring with 17 points.
In Friday’s game, McCluer, one of the top-ranked teams in the region, pulled out to an early lead and did not let it up. The team will close the season with a road contests against Vianney High School Wednesday night and nearby Fort Zumwalt South Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
