The boys tennis team ended their regular season on a high note as they beat the McCluer North Stars by a score of 7-0, yesterday. The boys ended their season with a 12-2 record with their only losses coming from Francis Howell and Duchesne. Now that the regular season has drawn to a close, the boys will travel to Holt High School for the GAC tournament tomorrow.
“We are all playing real good tennis right now and we’re more ready now than ever for the GAC tournament this week and districts next week,” said junior Justin Sanford. “Sometimes guys will give up on tennis at the end of the season because school is almost over, but everyone this year is staying focused.”
Heading in to the district tournament, Sanford says that the team will continue to practice hard and keep themselves focused. He feels that it is important not to lose sight of what the team ultimately wants, which is the state title.
