As the doorway to room 5 approaches, notes of harmony enter the ears of all who come toward the hall. As chorale prepares for its Winter Concert, they work diligently each day in order to perfect their pieces. One piece, “Silent Night,” combines the traditional hymn with a descant part sung by the choir. Senior Dallis Maschmidt, who has spent all of her four years in choir, explains the significance of this tradition.
“At the end of the Winter Concert we all sing a song called ‘Peace, Peace’, and the audience actually gets to interact with it. The audience and [Choir Leadership Council] sing ‘Silent Night’ together while the choir sings ‘Peace, Peace,’” Maschmidt explains.
Chorale performs its Winter Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
