On Nov. 1, the Spartan theater performed Trap for the last time, but unlike prior years, it was not performed at home due to unforeseen circumstances. The play was hosted at Francis Howell North because the FHC auditorium was under construction. Trap by Stephen Gregg was a unique play because it included the audience and told a story about modern society. Senior Chole Biondo expressed how important the audience was to the play.
“The audience reaction was extremely important. Everything we did was to get a reaction from the audience. If they didn’t look afraid, if they didn’t, like, you couldn’t hear, like, them moving in their seat because they were afraid or they were nervous, then we weren’t doing our job well,” Biondo said. “The entire thing relied on the audience’s reaction and building up the tension and the fear. We couldn’t do that, then there really wasn’t a play at all.”
The Spartan Theater’s next performance will be a musical in the spring
