As course registration approaches, teachers encourage students to explore their options and try out different classes. In order to promote the art department, students will be creating a video showcasing the art program’s variety at FHC. For the video, after school on Monday, Nov. 10, members of NAHS participated in short art challenges that each represented a different part of the art department. Using toothpaste to paint, and aluminum foil to sculpt, the students symbolized the art department’s painting and sculpture classes. Senior Ben Bollinger participated in the challenges and expressed the enjoyment that comes from participating in art classes.
“I feel like it gives you more of an excuse to experiment and gives you more motivation to continue to [create art],” said Bollinger. “It’s a way to just keep pushing you out of your comfort zone so that you can find what you like.”
The next NAHS meeting will be on Monday, Dec. 8. Members will be competing in a gingerbread house competition.
