As part of the clubs for November, DECA’s competition took place on Nov. 19 in the library. Gathering volunteers from the community, DECA had a panel of judges for the students to showcase their skills to. Students were given one of two items to sell to these judges, either a charcuterie board, or a way to improve NCAA ticket sales. Vice president, senior Dimitry Babey participated in this competition, and explained what DECA means to him and how it can improve someone’s life.
“I think DECA has really helped me with my public speaking as well as opening my vision to selling and speaking better,” Babey said. “DECA has really affected me, and now that I’m in this leadership position it, has definitely changed my outlook on life more positively.”
DECA will have competitions throughout the year, allowing for students to improve.
