The girls basketball season is officially underway, the season kicked off due to the help of the basketball jamboree that took place on Nov. 18. The team went on to play 3 different schools, St. Joseph’s Academy, Westminster, and Fort Zumwalt North, the Spartans won two out of three of their games. Junior Elle McDevitt participated in the jamboree and has been playing basketball since she was in fourth grade. Basketball has shaped McDevitt’s life in many different ways, such as helping her to gain leadership skills and step outside of her comfort zone. McDevitt voiced her opinion on the basketball jamboree.
“I like that you get to play multiple different opponents,” McDevitt said. “Starting the season off can be stressful, but being able to restart every game is nice because it doesn’t let you get down on yourself.”
The next girls basketball game will be at North Point on Dec. 10.
