Girls varsity wrestling had their second wrestling tournament of the season on Dec. 5. They wrestled many teams from different schools at Ft Zumwalt North. Cooper Rowse won first place, and got second place for the team. The team comes together to cheer each other on every time someone plays. They have a deep connection to support and feel empathy for every girl on the team. Sophomore Harper Humes believes the team’s support for each wrestler helps them on the mat.
“I think it’s that even if you may not like a person more than you like someone else, you’re still there for them and cheer them on from the sidelines, no matter what. Win or lose, it doesn’t matter,” Humes said.
The girls’ varsity wrestling team’s next tournament is Dec. 12 at Francis Howell High School, starting at 5:00 p.m.
