Many student athletes grow memories but moreover bonds and passion throughout sports. Additionally, they grow a sense of enjoyment whether their specific sport is their escape from home, school etc. Once a specific sport comes to an end to their season, some student athletes seek that feeling in other sports to be able to continue their athletic career throughout high school as many student athletes are occupied with sports all school year round. Moreover this past week the FHC girls wrestling team held their first home meet of the season while up against Francis Howell North with their final score of all girls wrestling duals from levels junior varsity and varsity was 57-24. Additionally Freshmen Madelyn Callier appreciates how she started out her freshmen fall semester in cheerleading as it helped aid and give her benefits that have been shown in wrestling, while it also been her first year trying out both sports.
“I feel like the upper body strength comes into play at practices and helps me a lot,” Callier said. “[Especially] when at practice learning or memorizing certain moves.”
The girls’ next dual is Monday Dec. 29 – 30 as they will be leaving to Columbia Missouri for the annual “Wonder Women” wrestling tournament at Battle High School.
