The girls varsity wrestling team went to the St. Charles Tournament on Jan. 17. The girls worked hard in practice for this tournament and it payed off. Most of the girls finished their first round of matches with a win. Before matches are nerve racking and kind of scary because they have so much pressure to win. Junior Addison Holtgrewe talks about what she does to overcome that nervousness.
“I overcome it by talking to myself, and telling myself I’m going to do good also having other people tell me that. Then sometimes if I’m super nervous I’ll say a quick prayer” Holtgrewe said.
The next wrestling tournament is Jan. 31 against Seckman at Seckman Senior High School.
